Find Venango County Released Inmates

Venango County released inmates no longer appear in a live jail view once local custody ends, so a useful search must follow the release event into county records, court files, state corrections, or post-release supervision. To search for Venango County released inmates, begin with the last known custodian and decide whether the person went to the community or another facility. Venango County released inmates may be confirmed through a county release record, a statewide custody alert, a court order, or a corrections locator. Each source answers a different part of the question and should be matched with a second identifier.

Understanding Venango County Releases

A person can leave Venango County Prison for several very different reasons. Some people post bail, receive a court order, finish a county sentence, or enter probation or parole. Others leave the local building only because another agency takes custody. That last event is a transfer, not a community release. A sound Venango County released inmate search must identify both the end of local custody and the destination that followed.

The county prison holds pretrial detainees, people serving county terms, supervision violators, certain civil contemnors, and people waiting for transport to a state facility. That mixed role explains why a missing name proves little by itself. The strongest confirmation joins an event-bearing source, such as a prison movement record or PA SAVIN alert, with a court, custody, or supervision record. The label used matters: “released from Venango custody” is narrower than “released to the community.”

Release
The physical end of custody at a named facility.
Discharge
Completion of custody or supervision, depending on the agency's use of the term.
Parole
Release from confinement while the rest of a sentence is served under supervision.
Transfer
Movement to another custodian without freedom in the community.

Venango County Release Routes

The county's Discharge and Releases explanation gives unusually clear names to the legal routes out of local confinement. Those labels describe authority for release. They are not a searchable list of people. The jail's internal wording may also differ, so request the existing movement or release record when the exact category is important.

Release routeMeaningUseful next record
Recognizance or nonmonetary releaseThe court allows release on a promise or stated conditions without a cash payment.UJS docket and prison release entry
Unsecured, nominal, or monetary bailThe bail form and payment duty vary, while the criminal case continues.Bail docket, Clerk record, and jail confirmation
Special court orderA judge directs release under the terms written in the order.Order plus physical-release record
Probation or paroleThe person enters community supervision after a court or Board action.Supervised Individual Locator and local office
Time servedThe covered sentence is satisfied, if no other case or hold blocks release.Sentencing order and jail movement record
TransferVenango custody ends but another agency continues custody.Destination field and receiving locator

A bail entry, dismissal, or time-served sentence can make release lawful without proving that jail processing finished. Another warrant, charge, detainer, or sentence may still control. Confirm the physical event with the prison, PA SAVIN, or the existing release record.

Venango County Weekend Releases

Venango County Local Criminal Rule 528.2 permits the prison to accept bail after normal court hours and on weekends when the set monetary amount and required papers are complete. A person can therefore leave while the Clerk of Courts is closed. That local rule explains why a later docket entry time and the actual release time may not match.

For a bond release, first find the bail type and posting or order entry in the court docket. Then ask the prison to confirm whether processing ended and whether another hold existed. The four magisterial district courts handle the first stage of criminal matters, while qualifying cases proceed to Common Pleas. Search each relevant docket because one case cannot cancel a hold in another.

Can a weekend release be real if the Clerk was closed? Yes. Local rules allow after-hours bail processing at the prison, but a prison record should confirm completion.

Venango County Release Record Fields

A useful Venango County release record answers four questions: who was confined, when the custody event occurred, which authority caused it, and where the person went next. Identifiers prevent same-name errors. Event fields distinguish a street release from a move to PA DOC, another county, federal authority, or immigration custody. A booking photograph is part of the intake record and should be named separately in a request.

FieldWhat it establishes
Full name, date of birth, jail numberThe identity tied to the confinement
Booking or commitment dateWhen the local custody episode began
Case number and originating courtThe court matter connected to custody
Release date and timeThe effective end of the facility's custody
Release type or authorityBail, order, time served, supervision, or another stated basis
Destination or transfer agencyWhether community release or onward custody followed
Bond or sentence-credit dataDetails supporting the legal route when maintained

The court filing date, Board decision date, PA SAVIN alert time, and physical exit time can all be different. Keep each date with its label. For a formal answer, the prison's existing movement or release log is the best target because it can connect the effective time, type, and destination in one record.

Request Venango County Release Records

Venango County provides a Right-to-Know request form, a policy, and a current fee schedule. Ask for existing fields instead of asking staff to research a person's history or create a new list. A tight date range, alternate spellings, date of birth, jail number, or docket number helps the agency find the right commitment.

  1. Identify the person with a full name and a second reliable identifier.
  2. Give the booking period or a narrow date range for the custody event.
  3. Request the commitment, movement, release date and time, release type, authority, and transfer destination fields.
  4. Name the intake photograph separately if it is needed, since it may be maintained as another record.
  5. Ask for electronic copies and a fee estimate before chargeable reproduction.
  6. Keep the submission, response, attachments, fee notice, and any appeal instructions together.

No public retention period for a Venango release feed was found, and no such public feed was located. Historical access depends on the record maintained, applicable schedules, exemptions, and court restrictions. If a response omits the type or destination, ask whether the field was redacted, is not maintained, or belongs to another custodian.

Venango County Release Record Law

Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§67.101 et seq., treats local-agency records as presumptively public while preserving exemptions, privileges, court orders, and other laws. The agency must reasonably search for existing responsive records, but it need not create a record that does not exist. That distinction matters because Venango County does not publish a person-by-person recent-release list.

Release records may contain data that can be separated from protected content. Medical or treatment details, victim information, security material, investigative records, juvenile information, sealed matters, and expunged data may be withheld or redacted. Public UJS visibility can also change through sealing, expungement, or Clean Slate limited access. A missing online result never proves that no custody or release event occurred.

Note: Check Venango County's current policy and fee schedule before filing because the research supports no guaranteed charge, response, or disclosure result.

Venango County Release Statistics

The Venango County Prison FAQ reports an approximate 60-day average stay. It says the population mix includes quick bond releases, 48-hour DUI sentences, and county terms that may reach five years. The same FAQ also describes roughly nine to twelve months as a “median,” which does not align cleanly with the stated average. Both labels should be kept as published instead of being blended into a new estimate.

No reliable annual release count was found. The figures cannot support a turnover rate, a daily-release estimate, or a claim about how many Venango County released inmates leave within any chosen window. They do show why a single typical stay is misleading. Pretrial bail, short sentences, county terms, violations, and transfers create very different timelines.

Find Venango County Released Inmates

Begin with the last custody that is known, not the system that is easiest to search. Venango County has no official public current roster or recent-release feed in the sources reviewed. A person who leaves the prison may go home, enter supervision, or move to another custodian. The search must test those paths in a clear order.

  1. Search PA SAVIN/VINELink by full name and compare the custody agency and a second identifier.
  2. Call Venango County Prison and ask whether the person was released to the community or transferred, plus the effective date.
  3. Search all relevant Venango criminal dockets in the UJS portal for bail, disposition, sentence, or later orders.
  4. Run both PA DOC modes: current inmate for a state transfer and supervised individual for current post-prison supervision.
  5. Use BOP or ICE only when facts point to federal or immigration custody.
  6. File a narrow county request when the event remains unresolved or needs written proof.

A person absent from a jail source is not automatically free. Confirm release, transfer, continued custody, or an unresolved result with official records.

The Venango County 24-hour release route explains the same-day fallback in more depth. For a named person, keep the inquiry focused on the custody event and preserve the source, date, search terms, and result.

Venango County Recent Release Search

No official Venango County public roster, 24-hour list, 72-hour list, released-person view, jail app, or booking-photo gallery was located. The official prison page offers contact details, while the Discharge and Releases page explains legal categories. Neither displays a name-by-name feed. The sheriff's page covers warrants, court security, and transport, but the sheriff is not presented as the jail operator or release-feed publisher.

For a new event, PA SAVIN/VINELink is the best person-specific substitute. Register while the correct custody record is active if future notice is needed. For an event that already happened, call the prison, inspect the UJS docket, and request the release or movement record. A transfer record is especially important because transportation can remove someone from the local facility without producing community release.

The official county release categories are shown in this source capture.

The page explains release authority, but it does not supply names, dates, a rolling window, or an update schedule.

Venango Courts and Release Orders

Venango County's four magisterial districts receive criminal cases first. Matters that qualify then move to Common Pleas. The combined Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts serves as the local criminal recordkeeper and also handles bail money. This split explains why one person may have entries at more than one court level and why the jail webpage is not the best source for the order that authorized release.

Use the UJS public case search to review bail, charges, disposition, sentence, custody credit, probation or parole orders, and later docket events. A court entry explains legal authority, not the exact time jail staff completed release. When an order is unavailable online, contact the Clerk at the courthouse. Clean Slate, sealed, expunged, juvenile, and other restricted records may not appear publicly.

The official Venango recordkeeper page identifies the office that holds local criminal files and bail records.

Pair an authorizing order from that office with a prison or custody-event record when the physical exit time matters.

Venango County Release Supervision

Parole follows confinement and lets a person serve the balance of a sentence in the community under conditions. Probation can be ordered without a prison term or after confinement. Venango has an unusual arrangement: Pennsylvania's county directory lists Venango and Mercer as exceptions to the usual division between state and county supervision structures. The state supervised-person locator and local Court Supervision Services should therefore be checked together.

Court Supervision Services is in the Courthouse Annex and can help identify the responsible office, though staff may limit what they disclose. The PA absconder search is a separate public channel for people reported as failing to report as required. An absconder listing can support prior release to supervision, but it does not prove present freedom or supply the original jail exit time.

Venango Release Programs and Reentry

Venango County names local programs that can form part of release preparation or supervision. They include AA/NA, cognitive life skills, anger and stress management, GED work, mental-health counseling, ministry, and community service. Parole conditions may also include inpatient or outpatient substance-use programming. These are routes to ask about, not promises that a person will receive placement or a benefit.

The county Human Services Plan discusses groups offered in the prison and work on Medical Assistance applications so eligibility can be addressed after release. The useful next step is to ask the prison, Court Supervision, or the named service agency what applies to the specific release plan. Work release is still custody, even when a participant leaves the building for approved activity.

Venango Release Property Deadlines

Venango's property guidance creates two concrete deadlines after release. Commissary items must be collected within 72 hours. Excess personal property left for 30 days after release is treated as abandoned and destroyed. The released person or an authorized representative should contact the prison promptly and ask what identification or permission is required.

The 72-hour property rule is not a 72-hour online release-list retention period. Venango publishes no such release feed or retention window. If a record has an error, direct a dated correction or records request to the agency that maintains the entry. Keep copies of the request and response.

Venango Release Alerts and Transfers

PA SAVIN through VINELink covers county jail, state prison, and state parole custody changes. It can send phone, text, email, or app notices for release, movement, transfer, escape, and other events. Select Pennsylvania, search one person, compare identifiers and the custody agency, then choose Get Notified on the correct record. An alert reports a custody change; it is not a certified discharge record and does not rule out another hold.

Federal and immigration channels apply only when the facts point there. The BOP locator covers federal inmates from 1982 forward and may show Released or Not in BOP Custody with a date. That ends BOP custody only. ICE's locator tests current immigration detention, while USMS may hold or transport a federal pretrial person without a sentenced BOP result. A Venango-to-ICE handoff is a transfer.

Venango Release or Continued Custody

Each public channel proves a limited fact. Match the source to the question, then compare at least two identifiers. A negative result should be recorded as “no match in the current interface using these inputs,” not “no record exists.” Spelling, aliases, timing, expired supervision, restricted files, and transfers can all produce a miss.

Venango County Prison Release History

Venango's official jail history reaches from a 1799 blockhouse through facilities built in 1819 and 1853 to the jail completed in 1911. During one construction period, an escape led to other prisoners being housed in Crawford County. The history shows that out-of-county custody is not a new concept, but it cannot prove the destination of any modern movement.

Today, the movement record must name the receiving agency. A PA DOC current-inmate match can corroborate a state transfer. ICE may confirm current immigration detention when a detainer is known. Another county must confirm its own custody. For facility contacts, release routes, the Pre-Release Advisory Board, and records steps, use the Venango County Prison release page.

Venango County Release Facility

Only one public detention facility belongs in the Venango County facility map. Venango County Prison is the county correctional institution for pretrial and county-sentenced custody. No separately operated state prison, federal prison, ICE detention center, regional jail, or public municipal detention facility was located within the county during the official sweep.

Venango County Prison: 1186 Elk Street, Franklin, PA 16323; 814-432-9629. Community release may follow bail, court order, time served, probation, parole, or another authorized route. A departure may instead be a transfer, so ask for the destination and effective date.

State prisoners connected to Venango remain searchable statewide regardless of the institution's county. Federal and immigration systems are also separate. Keeping those custodians distinct prevents a local jail departure from being mislabeled as freedom from all custody.
